Q:
Why does Shincheonji claim that there is eternal life?

A:
Eternal life is not what Shincheonji claims. Eternal life is what God promised. It is the core of religion and the purpose of recording the Bible. One of the things that Jesus argued with the religions leaders of that time about was eternal life (Jn 8:47-55).

God create heaven and earth, then He made man in his image. But God’s offspring, Adam, ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and became a sinner. As a result, God, who is life, left and death came to humanity. When ours sins are resolved, the God of life will come back to us people and dwell with us. Then our lifespan will be lengthened again.

People became flesh due to sin. Then how can we be changed into God’s image and have Eternal life? In this state we are now in, we cannot have Eternal life. We must be born again of imperishable seed, which is God’s word and spirit (Jn 3:3, 5).

For example, a silkworm egg, which is like a small seed, grows by eating only mulberry leaves, build it own house, and turns into a pupa. After three days, it becomes a butterfly and achieves its purpose of flying. In the same way, if we start with God’s seed, grow by eating only the leaves of truth, and turn into God’s image and likeness, we can then achieve the purpose of eternal life.

Shincheonji believes in eternal life the God promised in the Bible and is making effort to earn it.
